The Wolds Motel is situated on one of the busier streets in this car-oriented section of Mt. Pleasant. A walk at the disposal may not be very great but one can easily get to fast-food places in 10-15 minutes which are very helpful especially that time after long hours of driving and when a McDonald’s is such a good place to visit for a quick, cheap meal. A gas station with an attached convenience store also makes it quite easy to bag some drinks and snacks. Walking generally appears on a main commercial street and this time again, it is nothing more of practical views rather than falling in love with the sceneries.

While for more substantial dining or experiencing the town’s atmosphere a car is needed, downtown Mt Pleasant is only five minutes away by car to attractions, unique local shops, brewpubs like Mountain Town Station, and excellent restaurants like The Brass Cafe. It's also a five-minute drive to the large campus of Central Michigan University from the motel.

Though the immediate vicinity does not have parks or trails for a nice walk, at least the motel is situated in a good starting-off point. In a short drive, you are on Island Park, which sits on the Chippewa River and boasts great walking paths, picnic spaces, and sports facilities. Hence, that's how guests would consider the motel a place convenient to park and rest before driving to their intended destinations in and around the city.
